The Secret In The Eyes

Very interesting portrait - black & white suits perfectly. Soft focus and noise go nicely hand in hand to create indeed a magical (or "secret") atmosphere. Direct gaze and dominance of dark eyes create a strong connection between photo and beholder.

There's just one characteristic that I find a bit disturbing: with such a tight cropping of the head (which has of course a purpose as described above) I always have the impression that outside the frame the head extends in monstrous dimensions - it might be just my own stupid brain making false assumptions on what's outside the picture - but I'd be curious, whether others have same perception.

Still: a magical portrait!

I selected this crop because what was impotent for me was the Expression and the eye . I didn't want anything else to change the attraction point . I know it's a strong tight crop but ........... That's what I like about it :)

I like your crop too. The luminosity of the skin is nice. The dark, deep eyes grab my attention. Nice work.

Dark eyes and a very slight expression on the lips tell about the mysterious thought process behind it. Very strong highlights on the cheeks and the bridge of the nose are distracting to me.  I cant explain the glowing light between the right side of the face and the dark BG . Regards, ifti
