Fragile new life for the New born Robins

These are new born baby Robins in the nest with one last unhatched

egg. They wait for the mom to return to feed them and sit on the nest to

warm and protect them.

This shot is great, some may say as a 'documentary' as it is not one you would put on a wall...but I find it beautiful all the same.  I've had many Robins lay eggs in various spots outside our many houses, but it is always a miracle to me....and nearly each day I've taken a peak to see how many feathers have grown.  The life cycle of birds, at least ones I can be privy to, amazes me.  And what truly amazes us in this life.....at least ones we can observe, day to day until the parents push them out of the nest, they will either Fall...OR learn to FLY.

When I got pushed out of the nest, I fell flat on my FACE ! but thakfully, they had taught me enough, to dust myself off, stand up ......and keep going.  Great shot!  sincerely, and with thanks, Gail
