indraneel 0 Posted March 4, 2011 Beautiful tones, and as already said, a clean image. Nice! Link to comment
cyanatic 0 Posted September 15, 2012 Barry -- I saw you post this in a thread but thought it would be more appropriate to comment on it here. This is one example of the type of photograph I look for -- both in my own work, and the work of other photographers. It has a wonderful (to me) surrealistic feel. The overturned barrel and the footprints that mysteriously begin out of thin air in the foreground. The distant figure of the woman and the freighter at upper left, and the lonely looking lifeguard station at upper right. There's almost a tension in these elements, describing a rectangle, in the middle of which is just empty sand. It is balanced, yet not balanced. I find it very striking. I would not find it out of place if I saw it hanging in an exhibition somewhere. Link to comment
Bachir 0 Posted November 8, 2015 Barry, Outstanding construction! I like the way you used space in terms of proportions, scale and perspective. The shade of the barrel, the tracks and the lines on the sand add immensely in contrast to the sea in the horizon. The choice of black and white is perfect for this excellent work! Jack McRitchie 150 Posted September 21, 2016 I see Steve gave a very accurate and concise critique so I won't try to add anything to it. Just want you to know I think this is a fine shot. Link to comment
