stp 6 Posted May 23, 2010 Rick, this is simply beautiful. The slight asymmetry is wonderful. Was the black background a matter of fortunate circumstances, or did you achieve this in processing? Either way, it's a great "botanical portrait." Link to comment

ricklundh 0 Posted May 24, 2010 Thanks for the comments! Stephen, I actually used my black shirt as a backdrop for this. I just used the timer on my camera and kept running back and forth. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted May 25, 2010 Rick, that's great. I've carried around a black cloth for years for the same reason, but I have yet to use it (except to clean water off equipment). The black background was really important to this photo -- nice work. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted May 25, 2010 this is well done. It could be also called "a ladder to Heaven". First I wasn't sure about the two short(er) stalks, but I'm warming up to them - they kinda ground the image. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
johne37179 29 Posted May 25, 2010 I love the mathematical splendor of ferns -- yours is particularly wonderful. I have a few in my portfolio. Best, John Link to comment
