love the contrasts. the monotones of the buildings against the colors of the umbrella, and corresponding straight lines vs. the circle. Well seen.

Wonderful image......such a nice contrast between the architecture and the rich colors of the umbrella.  Congrats!

Lines and a circle with the colors on white plus the nice composition works for a great image. Well done.

many thanks for all your encouraging comments - I'm overwhelmed :-) - in fact, this was one of those rare lucky moments when a situation just develops perfectly - like puzzle pieces falling magically into right places.

It's a moment where the juxtaposition is the essential quality and you captured it.

Interestingly, the abstract qualities of geometry, color, line, and shape tell as much a story as the narrative content.

This says, "I was there" as if it were carved into one of the wooden beams.

many thanks also for stopping by and commenting so favourably. In fact, a great deal of luck was involved, not only because the umbrella's colour-loving owner chose to step on the threshold but also because she couldn't decide to enter immediately - giving me sufficient time to find a suitable position and to shoot a series of photos.

Everything looks gray and then suddenly there's a rainbow.  A nice shot of color in a serene scene.

This could also be found in a textbook of the Professor of Photography Harald Mante IMO. Great composition (contrasts of shapes and textures and lines and colors, superb balance of proportions of image elements etc.). Absolutely stunning idea, this is a highly innovative work. Technically flawless, ideal. Bravo.

p.s. does your personal Web show one photo only at the moment? Could not find any navigation tool, sub pages or so.

well, yes, my personal homepage currently only contains one photo - I found I was just too lazy recently, to keep it up to date.

cheers, Wolfgang
