I think this is one of the most exciting images I've produced in the last 10 years and I'm gettin' 4/4 on it???? Not even a comment, what's happening to this site??

Don't let it get to you Philip.  There's a bunch of cowards who monitor this site and make it their livlihood to mark every image with threes and fours.  Apparantly they have no lives, and this is how they get their jolies.  It used to really bother me too, but I just ignore them now, like everyone else.

Appreciate the positive comment. It is amazing to me that this site used to be a really solid forum for photographic critique. People used the rating system as it was intended to be used...to accompany their comments and critique. A dialogue really opened up. Now if you get two words you're extremely fortunate. I get the feeling that a lot of the images being rated highly are contributed by the same small circle of people who stick together in a regular clique. Giving each other the best of ratings and stroking each other back and forth with their two-word comments. I'm seeing images that in no way should be rated with sixes and sevens or even fives yet there they are covered by the same raters and given the same drivel for accompanying comments; "Congrats." This is what has become of commentary and critique in the age of right now and instant results. Encapsulated by this recently overheard comment; "Don't leave me a voice message, if you want to reach me, send me a text. I don't have time to listen to a message."

Try not to get upset with the ratings. I used to ger upset. They are just numbers and thy mean nothing. Comments are what count.

I think it is a brave man who states his liking for an image before others have had time to comment. That said, I can see why you like it. I might have filled the frame a little more but this is only a small point!

Nicely graphic and creatively thought out!  Ratings?  I haven't looked at a rating in years.  Nice to see you making photos.
