"May's Meadow"

The last of the lupine for this spring. The grasses are firming up and implanting stickers all through my socks and clothes when I walk among them. Still, they show a softness, almost like brushstrokes. The sun was just emerging from a cloud, so the light was just right. For this image, I liked the front lighted quality. The distant poppies in a clearing of light provided a diagonal and a splash of warmer color. I wanted good depth on the near flowers and grasses, but a falloff of sharpness in the distance. Therefore, F11 gave me the desired quality. The only possible way to interpret this image is to view the Larger version. Thanks for your thoughts!

Thanks Rashed and Mike! I wish I had more time this morning to work more comps. I was under the clock to get back and send my daughter to kindergarten. Just as I respond to your comments, I notice a ladybug on the stem of the middle lupine of the three on the right. I need a tele-extender for subjects like these! Correction: Ladybug on the grass in front of the middle lupine.
