a lovely capture here of this Weaver bird..... looks like a female, yet it is on a nest in the early stage of construction.... maybe its an adolecent male?

I agree with Margo about the framing. I have chosen this image on which to comment because of the natural habitat you have included. As a photographer who believes in "you see what I saw" type of imagry... this one works for me.

You have good Dof, good lighting and strong definition on the subject. Hand held at 300mm......... steady hands, well done.

Dear friends,

Thanks a lot for stopping here for a moment and leaving your kind words, it is a great pleasure to me to read that you have enjoyed this picture ...

Friend Grayham,

Please dont laugh now, all pictures in the portfolio are hand held, as I dont have a good tripod :-) Do not know why, but always feelt not so comfortable when I have tried out the tripods of my friends and thus developed the habit of shooting without one ... It is not good, infact pretty bad, I know, but I somehow got on the wrong footing with the tripod ... I will try to remedy that soon ...

I never laugh at confessions (smiles) to tell the truth, I find the tripods to be rather cumbersome too, and have been working with a monopod and pistolgrip head recently. I am starting to have better success with it.... the big thing with a monopod is to remember "not to let go"............. just a thought.
