mark 3 Mr. Blue Takes a Step

This heron was spoofed after some thunder and I started to

catch him walking -- a few seconds later he was flying away.. I

like the contrast of his surroundings. Comments appreciated

I think it's stunning-nice movement of the bird into the shot, great flowers in the background and a very nice even lighting. To nick-pick it would be nice if the bird had a catch-light init's eye, or maybe a little more eye contact. It think one could argure for or against all the droppings on the rock, but I really can't think of anyway to crop it out. Nicely done!

Was this in a zoo?

It was at Animal Kingdom in Orlando. It was a wild bird in the lake area in the middle of the other exhibits.

Great photo. Is it just me or does the foot in the air look a little flat? It seems like it's part of the rock behind it.

The foot issue you are mentioning looks to me just like some movement as he was moving his foot forward
