Seek, if you want a meaning withine yourself , Hide if you don't...

A fraction of a sentence that I though about..

Choreographed by Yoram Karmi and his group of dancers. The narrative is about our pace of life in the developed technological era.

Thanks for viewing, (large is better,)

Unless, of course, you're biblical Job.  The meaning

They are together as a unit (though still composed of discernable individuals in different reactions) and facing something that seems an uneasy confrontation, the curtain seam in the middle almost as if they are backed into a corner.   The man in the center front captivates me; he is a leader. Some protect others, some themselves, one seems to be in a salute (hopefully not reaching out for blind allegiance).  The source of angst, I guess, is for us to imagine.  Perhaps it doesn't matter if they are confronting reflections of themselves or anything else; perhaps what matters is how they respond.

The purple floor is attractive.  I think, Pnina, you are having a lot of joy in these creations.

BTW, I think of S.Y. Agnon, where we can begin to seek and either begin to find or what we seek is hiding or hidden

that's really a funny coincidence! i was looking at your photo, when arrived a comment from you! you know,  love this serie. is an interpretation of a dance, of show, that conteins something more of this. as a metaphore, somewhere. i think, for the title you choosed, this was your intention.

Donna, dance interpretation opens a lot of possibilities/ thoughts which  not always fits the choreographer's intentions ,and that is the reason I enjoy photographing some works that for me touches human life, as it opens up my imagination. Dance is really an abstract sentences of movements, and it is a trigger for me to freeze a splite of a second and adding my thoughts to it, exactly as you did here by your interpretation of each of the dancers.( I did not understand what you ment by the bible though. Joel, the man, IS one of the main dancer in this group.)Thanks for your nice addition.

Tolo, Alberto and Vadim, thanks as well.

Andrea, thanks for adding the word metaphor, which is a good word for dance interpretation as I wrote to Donna.

Keith, nice to see you active again. thanks for your comment and I wish you  well.

I love this, Pnina--the larger the better.

I am reminded of the suits of mail that medieval knights wore, at times under their other armor and and especially about their heads.

A very interesting image of this group, dressed up like spermatozoa, looking ahead into the future, blinded by the goal and forgetting the reality around them - very much true in our world of high-tech. Pleasant light and colors.

Has definitely your signature. Excellent stage shot again - as all your work in this genre in fact. Compliments!

Lannie,Tibi and El.

It is interesting how each of you interpret the scene differently.  How past and present, and other factors are triggering the mind of viwers. Thanks for your points of view.

Pnina, your series on dance are taking us in a direction that we have forgotten or ignoring. These images reminds us of the necessity of the arts for the growth and health of human spirit. You are imparting aesthetic education to viewers of all age and place, through these images

You have captured human emotions ,in a split second, showing that Dance and Photography are both fine Art.

Thought provoking dance photography, very expressive moment. The intense color of the floor was mentioned, but I am not sure how much impact color does really add here. For me, a B+W would work better. Anyway, very good ballett photo

Amal, for your nice interpretation and kind word. For me as I wrote before dance is touching when I can find, aside from esthetic, light and composition, a fraction of a movement that  touches/connects  to life., this one is exactly my feeling to this scene and others in that creation.

Carsten, thanks for your point of view. I know that you are mostly a B/W photographer, so I will upload a B/W for you (and maybe for others) but  for me the colors were essential here, not so much the stage itself,  as for the bodies and costumes, that separated better imo the different movement/expression of the dancers . What do you think?

Pnina this presentation is fabulous in many ways. First the expressions conveys pure energy.  The closeness of the bodys provided for a perfect moment. Second the extended arms represents desperation for every moment of lived life. And last the covered faced dancer is telling us, it is too much!!! My take on it also includes that they are a great dance group.  Warm regards my friend. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO YOU!!!

Carsten, for your follow up.

Jorge, first thanks for your wishes for Mother's Day. we changed it here to a family day....Thanks as well for writing your impressions. As I wrote before I connect to dance art when its inner  narrative  is connected to life, which this choreographer( Yoram Karmi) does it very well  in all his creative works.

An interesting universal shot, perhaps expressing our collective unconscious.  Seeing and not seeing.  I like how some of the individuals throw others in shadow.  You have to be careful with whom you associate.

Beautifully photographed, this composition very much has me thinking. I love your 'dance' shots so much.
