I especially like the water. The light in the photo is very good, I think. I like the colors in the right upper corner, and yet I want to crop that out. It seems to be the source of some of the light, but it is so bright that my eye seems to go to it first, rather than to the waterfall.

I don't shoot these things too often. But I was compelled to drive

south and do it anyway. Mostly I did it for a chance to get away

from it all. But taking the photos was a nice product of that little

excursion. Any thoughts are appreciated.

If you cropped out the color in the upper right I think you would be left with a very bland image. I like the bit of color it adds to the photo. Nice work

Nice water flow. The lower right corner seems pretty dark, and yet if you adjusted contrast to compensate, I think the water detail and the colors in the upper right would be blown out. You made the right call, but the lack of detail in that area still detracts from the overall.

I agree that you shouldn't crop out that color. I think it's necessary for the shot. Nice job on the water although it is a bit dark.

dark for my taste but still very nice. The highlights on the fallen leaves on the rocks are a nice counter to the dark rocks and deadfall.

I love the composition and the effect of the waterfall captured ideally for my tastes. The lines of the logs (?) and the water flow work really well. The detail in the greenery above adds to the photograph making it very interesting leaving me with a contrast of feelings with the peaceful, serene waterfall making me think that time is standing still and yet the vibrant greens and browns of the trees take me off to another place entirely. Lovely photograph.

I really like the falls and the colours across the top. But I find the bottom right jarring and it keeps pulling my eyes away. I'm not sure how it could be done differently, though. If you crop it out, it takes too much of the top away. If you had gone face on the waterfall (presuming it was physically possible), I think it would have mad the shot more boring because the angle really helps it. All in all, I think it's a nice photo with a bad spot that just can't be helped.

I tried to lighten it up some on the right. I realize it is a dark, and somewhat contrasty scene (how I liked it). I'm hoping to get ahold of a monitor calibrator soon, since my monitor has wandered off and i've been having trouble recently. Of course, when I have $400, I plan to buy one. Thanks so much for the comments that I've already received.

this looks like a very magical place to me due to your wonderful representation of it. i would bring down the upper right corner a bit so that it doesn't compete so mucht with the fabulous water flow you have captured. that area does add nice color but is a little bright. maybe just a bit of fill flash on the logs on the right would have helped, but i do like the way the leaves seem to float there.
