This shot is of the old front entrance to the Vancouver Art Gallery,

which used to be the Vancouver Courthouse. I caught this man checking

out one of the lion statues that flank the stairs leading to the old

front entrance. Please comment on composition and tonal range.

Thanks so much!

Paul - I stopped by as I like the situation of this man. He looks to me as to be someone of the museum having his break.

The large version does pretty fine show his face, which the small version does hide.

As you ask about composition - The composition is straight forward and does fit very well to the content. You worked out the small man very well using the large Lion and his base. Maybe one thing, the man isn't really looking at the lion, it looks he is a little top on it. May be a part of a second before or after, he may had a look to the lions head... Butr that only as you asked.

Great shot! Congratulations! Regards Axel

Thank you Linda.  I was happy to get this shot as i was leaving the area, and just happened to see this guy.  It was a challenge getting the shot as I was across a main street in downtown Vancouver, and traffic going past was heavy!  I had to time it just right so a car would not be in the shot!  Take care.
