Curious: I see some of the light sources have the many pointed start effect (possibly due to a small aperture), but there are also these halo/circles around or near all the light sources including the one in the sky. Any clues?

This is two images put together. One is shallow depth of field, defocused to the point of loosing detail, the other is  closed down to give me greater detail (at least F22). They are put together in camera with Nikon or on computer with Canon.
