In my honest opinion John, this image is full of impact and has a very strong composition. I really like this kind of composition, ie going in close on the action. The only way you can improve this image is to deepen the blacks a bit, without losing detail. It would have much more impact this way. I am attaching an example to show you what I mean. Still, this is a superb image. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for writing, Tony.  I am really glad you said that.  I will tinker with the exposure and contrast some this week.  I usually like the darker, high-contrast photos, but have been using regular white light instead of the usual blue for printing.

Love this.  It has a "solidity" and dynamism that I seldom seem to find in action photography these days.  Most excellent.
