Siddis, the tribe to which this girl belongs, is of African descent. Her village,

Sisavan (aka Sirvan), is located inside Gir Forest National Park and Wildlife

Sanctuary, the last remaining refuge of the almost extinct Asiatic Lion. The

entire population of the village is Siddi. Recently a group of 22 young men

from the tribe have completed their training as Eco-Guides - an effort to

provide them productive employment.

First of all I would like to say thank you very much for you kind words related to my last posting (Photography Course for disadvantaged youth). The main objective of this course is to teach these young people to look their reality critically. With different looking.  Another goal is to see if any of them can enter at the job market in the area of photography.  As you said, it is also important to satisfy their egos.  I visited your portifolio and I enjoyed very much all your photos. Beautiful photos. Congratulations.

Regards, Chico do Vale.

It is a nice documentary photo of children doing work for survival which  should be done by adults. The back light is a bit distructing, I wish her face were better lighted, still a photo that tells a story.
