Tony... A classic when thinking of Africa, the warm, yellow sun and a preponderance of wildlife. In fact, those two distant trees there on the right look like.... elephants :-)... Good shot... Mike

Thank you Michael. This was taken many many moons ago in Kenya with my trusty Nikon F3. At that time this place was a dust bowl with a fragile eco system but it is one of a few places where you have a nice view of snow capped kiliminjaro. I have been ignoring my non-digital work and this was conveniently on a Kodak Photo CD and was scanned by a professional lab here in Montreal. Will I ever go back and do new film work? Some days I say yes and most of the other days I say no.

Great image Tony...must have been a great trip..........this image could very well be Futuristic.........who knows???? But it certainly looks stark and very dry. There are really a lot of possibilities for this image.....Fantastic how you are 'immersed in the sun'.......I imagine you must either have been right at or so close to the Equator. Digital is great but I'm glad you 'dived into your film work'...great image. tnks for sharing............Gail

Thank you very much for your visit. It is definitely on the equator. This was on the grounds of a small lodge where I would spend the evening and ready for an early morning game drive the next day. I should have been there with the equipment I currently own but that is life. I did not realize that the best time to see animals was early in the morning and late in the afternoon and I had low speed (50 Iso) film. C'est la vie - as they say here in Quebec.

I like bot  variation, actually I cannot see a difference. The Velvia  given  to you all this  beautiful golden colors  hard  to mimic  with  digital.  Being in Africa a couple  of  time, Zimbabwe, S, Africa, Namibia,  that is  the  light in the early  morning.

Beautiful composition, and an excellent  image with all the  mood  of  Africa.

Excellent.

Cheers.

Thanks. The 2nd one,  the sky is a bit lighter in color and I apologize for being late in my response. This year I and two others were busy arranging for a reunion of people born in the Caribbean islands of St. Kitts, Nevis and Anguilla in Montreal and that just concluded July 3rd 2016 where over 500 people attended.  It kept me very busy!
