Generally I like your images John....but this one has no soul.....it's just sort of meaningless to me.....and, imo, the execution is not up to your usual standards...Respects, Robert

Thank you friends ..

Robert: I think it's really funny when people sometimes praise their own work under their photos or describe all the intricacies that are to be found in it! As I have said before, taken up by others (sic), I sometimes post work that I think is ok, others not, so as to receive feedback from those whose opinions really count. I am delighted when these differ, allowing one to look at a photo quite differently than before. Thank you.

Erotic picture in 3 actions. The left and middle are (to me) OK but not the right one as there is no (erotic) clue. Technically superb of course.

Jan: if you see an erotic component somewhere, well that's just fine, but I must say that is not what I had in mind.

I have been posting recently different series of my models in movement, trying to capture the intemediary stages, and this is what this one is all about .. she lifted her skirt in order to sit down, pulled it up from behind, then found her position ... that's it, but it's really three shots in a sequence of many more. Many thanks for passing by and giving me your views.

Hmmmmmm, I don't know what's wrong with me, but I liked it.  Sure, we all have images that are better than others... they can't all be 7/7s.  At least I've never had that good fortune!

I think what's important is that we stretch ourselves to try new things.  The definition of a "rut" is a "grave" with both ends kicked out!  Always playing it safe leads to stagnation.

Una secuencia excelente. Magnifica composicion y estupendos momentos captados con unas excelentes poses y expresiones asi como una sensacional luz, tonos y detalle. ++

Un cordial saludo -Tolo.

The series is fine and I think and interesting grouping.  Almost as interesting is the variety of comments/critiques.

It is definitely good to stretch and try new things.  Brave to post experiments and unfortunate that your stretching seems to be almost always compared to your other work by someone.

As for the image--triptych--I think the series from sensual to casual back to sensual is interesting.  I see the first (left) image as well posed and possessing a good degree of sensuality/some what erotic quality.  Most likely the tension in the fabric, model's arm, and facial expression.  The middle pose looks totally un-posed and indeed as an intermediate position/adjustment.  The right image again looks posed and back to sensual/erotic--mostly due to the model's expression.  Please note that to me sensual or erotic are much more about the attitude/emotion expressed than what areas of the figure are seen.  I  do not see any of the images as overtly sexual.

Perhaps this is as much of a critique of the model's abilities than yours, but I think this is one of those situations where the model's ability to convey and the photographer's ability to light and press the button at just the right moment go hand in hand.  My apologies if I have over stepped the--don't critique the model--line.

Thank you friends.

Gary, thank you also for the more detailed impressions. As for the model, as you rightly say she undoubtedly plays an important role in most circumstances, and this one is exceptionally gifted not just through her physical attributes but in how she expresses them.

That said, every so often, a young lady comes along that has a feeling and understanding for photography and what is required.  I don't think that this one's vocation was to be a model, but she has magnetic presence which has served her well in that capacity.  You speak of the model's qualities and the photographer's too, but  as you know Gary there is a third very important component  which is the magic that they share together ...

In fact these  shots were taken less than an hour after first meeting her and it is unusual to understand each other so quickly, but we are now good friends,  have spent lots of time together and hopefully will continue to do so and take photos  .. as coincidence will often have it, we corresponded today.  Thank you once again.

I thought about this sequence for a few days and realized what it reminds me of. It is a bit like a chord series in music and how, in the end, it resolves itself into the major root. I like it very much, it is a bit like seeing the outtakes and final image of a master.
