stp 6 Posted April 11, 2010 What a perfect combination of photo and title -- it's wonderfully conceived. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted April 24, 2010 I liked the composition so much I decided to do something I rarely do, even with my own photos. The purpose of the exercise is not to say one is better than the other, rather to demonstrate the possibilities inherent in any photo. Some transform better than others but I really like what increasing the contrast to the max and converting to B&W in Photoshop has done to this one. Your (everyone's) mileage may vary. Best, LM. vbirke 0 Posted August 30, 2010 Very good perspective and positioning of image elements / very well composed: the two rail lines breaking up / "going their separate ways", i.e., running from the right bottom of the image towards the middle and the left part into different directions (the impression is effectively enhanced by the bridge in the background / the other line crossing, which forms a kind of tunnel and another perspective inside the perspective), the very single "lonesome" freight car, which is holding on for the next journey. The winterly scene adds a special kind of aesthetics and makes the viewer ponder on the fate of this lone wagon and may be crossroads. It is not a sunny, warm, delightful, embracing place / atmosphere that is shown here. May be an allegory of "the journey of life" or "crossroads in life" as well, which are not always easy to cope with... Great. BR / Volker Link to comment
