Erik, Hello, I enjoyed looking at your photo and portfolio. I liked your sports photos the best , and the golfing one and the hockey one the best of those. Your landscape phots have potential, so my opinion is to try to come up with some interesting compositions and have your photo tell a story to make them special. My point is, a tree is nice, a pond is nice and a sunset is nice but to have them all work together to make a great landscape photo. Make it stand out more than than the average person who could walk up to the pond at sunset and point and shoot. I do a lot of landscape photos and maybe you could take a look at some of them and also keep looking at the daily photos on PN to see some to the worlds best landscape photos and pickup ideas and critiques along the way. Keep posting photos. I look forward to seeing more of your work. a few specific examples from this photo are, not much interesting composition with all the branches and cattails in the front and the one big branch is distracting in the middle front. the horizon might be a bit tilted, not much color in the sky, so you could drop out some from the top. Maybe monkey around with the contrast and sharpness etc. a bit also. Well I sure hope this is helpful . I am here in PN for the same reasons to grow and develp my skills.

Thank you for your helpful comments Paul. I agree, landscape tends to be my weak spot at the moment, I just recently acquired a wide angle lens so I am getting some practice using it still. It was very insightful of you to say try and get something different than someone could get if they were to just walk up to the pond and take a picture, as that is what this was, we were on a walk and thought it was an interesting view.
