Indeed very moving image. Unfortunately we have been bombarded by so many images of starving children and many people are no longer moved by images of abject poverty. It bears the question whether the world has lost its capacity for compassion. I'm glad there are still people like you who feel it is important to show the inhumane and undignified conditions in which too many have to live. Regards - michel

Birte- It's really hard for me to find words for a picture like this. I like the way you processed it. Needles to say, a well conveyed message. Hard to imagine this kind of poverty unless you've seen it first hand. Thanks for sharing and all my best-Jim

Un cordial saludo -Tolo.

Birte this image reminds me of the opening scenes of the movie before nite fall, the true story of the Cuban writter Reinaldo Arenas who was at this age kept in a hole in the earth as a play pan and use to eat earth warms! It all end in USA New york City where he commits suicide because he is dying of AIDS. You are a great reported of humanity! Warm regards.

It is so sad that this baby girl has to set her delicate bottom on the dirt. I will be praying for the poor, so that they can have cleaner conditions to live in. Poor baby. She also looks too skinny for a child her age. Thanks for sharing this. I love the angle you chose here. Great job!

What a strong and moving image Birte,  and you chose a great angle to shoot it from, and achieved an image which is well photographed and executed. So effective. 7/7 from me and a hearty well done.
