It's a reminder of how fragile life really is and how it's often undervalued. Good job, Tiff. I would have brought him home too.

The woodpecker looks at rest amongst the wild flowers, but the best part of this sad tale, is that you cared enough to take the time and trouble to give this majestic bird a fitting departure and resting place on this mortal earth. It kind of re-installs my faith in human nature.
