Very interesting shot, with different focus planes and good tones ... a bit of mess in the background, I mean the background is a bit distracting.

This is a very good shot. The narrow depth of field on the person gives you an interesting perspective, but I do agree that the background is a bit distracting. The rule of thirds effect also helps make this a good shot. Maybe you should try to desaturate the photo and maybe only have the african-american person in color. Just something you might try. Other then that, great photo!
