GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted April 4, 2010 Whew! Impressive and Intense Composition Jim. I love the old Wood Chipper....what a find.....your processing is fascinating as is with your "Old Heaps"......but that sky....wow...intense....appears a storm sure is brewing. At this moment in time we are in a 'Wind Warning' outside our home. It reached 26 degrees here yesterday, humid today, with a cold front passing under the Great Lakes, causing the winds. They sure are howling, and your sky here totally makes me think of what I'm hearing. I'm not a fan of strong winds....I don't often have nightmares...but when I do....it's always very calm, as is the surroundings of the 'Chipper'....but in the distance a threatening sky takes me on a search for my children.....and I can never find them. For me a great shot, impressive processing, with an immediate connection with the weather I am experiencing as I write. Nice work! Cheers, Gail Link to comment

httpwww.photo.netphoto1664882761 0 Posted April 7, 2010 hi Jim great work. nice HDR work. I was wondering if you first composed this image, that you were thinking HDR, or the image just developed itself. either way great work as always. take care....mark Link to comment

jtipton 0 Posted April 7, 2010 Thanks to all for the kind comments and ratings. Always appreciated. Mark, I did plan this as an HDR. The light wasn't the best and the old chipper really lent itself to HDR. The sky was a bonus. Glad you liked it. -Jim Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted April 8, 2010 Jim, I enjoyed reading the comments on this one. The word "intense" was used more than once, which is the word I would use to describe the sky. Very skillfully edited. Well done. Link to comment
Funtak 0 Posted April 11, 2010 Looks like the sky will (at last) swallow everything, like Undo command..Good idea, well crafted. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted May 4, 2010 Skies such as this make for the best HDR images and you have succeeded in bringing out the best of the shot. I love your subject as I too am a photographer of old cars and farm equipment. Great work, I'll go peruse the rest of your portfolio for more jewels. Link to comment
