Today my wife went shopping with the kids and I was left home alone

to play on my own. I graved a few flowers and took some pictures. This

is a crop of the original. When I looked at it on the computer screen I

noticed to two bugs, (too bad I did not see them then) and decided to

make them the center of attraction.

The flower was lit from behind with a soft box and a Canon 580EXII.

I'd appreciate your thought and comments.

Un cordial saludo -Tolo.

All your last floral close up images are very interesting Alex. ………Excellent light treatment here and amazing rich tonality. ………..But the bugs is the main credit of this successful capture. …………….. Happy Easter my friend..

Fantástica, lindos colores, luz y composición, me encantó. Hay que darle credito a tu esposa por darte el tiempo para crear de tu inspiración, la mía no me deja ni tomar fotos, jajajaaj.

Un abrazo.

I did a similar thing once when I photographed a frog and inadvertantly photographed two "dualing pondskaters" on a lily pad......not nearly as attractive as this image though, the graduated colurs are just awesome.

Nice work Alex!

Alex, for us it is the POT OF GOLD at the end of the rainbow....for these 2 bugs, it is the 'GOLD' in the centre of the flower...........they were a 'surprise' for you.....but they truly make the picture.  congrats...Well done, your efforts really were worth it....sincerely, Gail

I also had such surprize guests once or twice - really interesting pic. I specially love the gradual change in color of the petals. Brilliant composition. Thanks for your visit and best regards.

Thanks for the explanation about how you took the photo.  Isn't it wonderful when you get a surprise like this?  I think the bugs absolutely make the image unique, and you were wise to capitalize so well on your good fortune.  Bravo!

You played nicely and very well, Alex...! -- I very much like the result -- Your photo is beautifully composed, imo & the 2 bugs are placed in the perfect spot as well. I can see that you enjoy your light box :-) Best regards, Marjolein
