gsphotoguy 3 Posted March 31, 2010 I like some of the little touches that make this a terrific photograph. Her expression is beautiful. The way she is holding her arms and hands create lovely lines. I especially like the way her hand brushes against her hair and how that continure the line to the other hand. The lighting is soft and very complimentary. Link to comment

robert gordon 0 Posted March 31, 2010 Excellent photo of a beautiful model, but unusual for you, John, in that it's not an environmental image. Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted March 31, 2010 Thank you friends .. Gordon, that is my sitting room wall behind the model .. I guess some shots are taken away from furniture etc., Link to comment

John Peri 1,029 Posted April 1, 2010 Thank you friends, glad you enjoyed this one. ZSOLT: zsolt, thanks, but I almost never look at the ratings. Friends tend to give you too high ratings, and often other spiteful people give you 3's, like for the photo above, but it's the same persons usually and one often knows who they are (not meaning of course that sometimes a photo does not deserve a 3 haha). I consider the total "number of ratings" useful, in that they push up the visiblity of your picture in the weekly charts etc., but the actual figures are of no interest per se. I guess if you receive a really huge amount, then startistically, you can indeed get some idea of how a work is perceived, especially if you take account of the anonymous ratings. Link to comment

jerrymat 4 Posted April 2, 2010 An especially pleasing gray-scale photo, John. I rather like the studio-look; it helps to isolate the important elements of the image and leaves nothing to distract. Regards, Jerry Link to comment
sv solomon photography 0 Posted April 2, 2010 Beautiful. What else can be said? To elaborate my thoughts... The pose, the lighting, the expression are all LOVELY. Her eyes "LOCK" on the viewer and her hands "GRASP". I prefer the lighting, that it is not harsh... That the gleam in her eye is not too bright. I enjoy that her form is well defined naturally by lighting that is just enough. Oh, that one might conjure what she could be thinking! Magnificent Portrait! Very well done! Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted April 2, 2010 Thank you friends. There are times when the soft blend of natural light with just a little fill in flash, as in the case above, seems to give results that are pleasing to some. I appreciate knowing that, thank you. Link to comment
jerrymat 4 Posted October 26, 2010 John,This is my second consideration of this one. I probably have not seen everything you produced in the last year but I vote for this being one of the best. I have mentioned before that I consider composition from the standpoint of where my viewing eyes go. If I record their travel here, I immediately look at those outstanding eyes, move to her hair and sweep down the s-curve of hair and hand, sweep down the highlighted hair and reverse directions at the elbow, moving upward bending at the shoulder, again discover the hands but now move backward up and down the other elbow to the hair, trace the contour of the breast and almost drop out at the navel, but am lured back to the eyes. I consider the longer my eyes seek out the lines, contours and details of the picture the more successful the composition of the picture. You kept me here a long enjoyable time.Regards,Jerry Link to comment
