gsphotoguy 3 Posted April 11, 2010 There is a bit of a story behind this. When I arrived to do my recent private photoshoot with Valya she had a book, The New Erotic Photography, that included work by Naomi Harris, no relation, who I studied with in the first session of The New Nude at ICP. At the end of the shoot we decided to have some fun with the book and her reacting to it. It was a great way to end our session. Link to comment
wmc718 3 Posted April 11, 2010 You're right Mark... a great shot of Valya. Just wondering... why so much noise? Did you shoot at a very high ISO? Are you after this effect? Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted April 11, 2010 Michael, This was shot on film. I get this at time with the inexpensive film scanner I use. When I print it I'll scan the print and replace this version. Yes, Valya is a terrific, expressive model. -Mark Link to comment
wmc718 3 Posted April 11, 2010 Mark, Ahhhhhh, that makes sense. Just curious... do you also have a DSLR or an ILC (interchangeable Lens Compact) camera? Yes, I'd also love to shoot Valya someday. She has a very unique face and body that really works for artistic work! Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted April 11, 2010 Sometimes its good just to have fun! (By the way... what is film?) Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted April 12, 2010 Michael - Yes, she is very good for artistic work. Meto - Thanks David - If this wasn't fun I'd move on to something that was. I work all day at a job that supports me and my photography, I need this for a creative outlet. Paulo - Yes! You might not like it but that doesn't mean it can not be liked by others. I realize it is unusual. I enjoy it partly because of the moment it captures for us. -Mark Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 13, 2010 Mark, It's always nice to hear the story behind the image. I have a few photos in the archive I will share along with the stories that accompany them. Keep up the good work! Charles Link to comment
