You may be forgiven for thinking your looking at rock formations

stretching into the sea, but in fact the material is Peat and in certain

places contains the fossilised remains of a forest some 6,000.00 years

old, the peat is covered in sand and only shows itself on occaision at

low tides, the strange thing is, it feels soft to the touch like cork. yet it

doesn't wash away with the erosive motion of the sea. A Mystery you

might say!

Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated. Thank You.

Thank you for the story...a very neat story. I love the bottom half but the sky is a little too blue saturated. Otherwise, super cool...

Alf, I've read about peat, now I've seen it. I love the way your images take me to British scenes that I have never actually seen! I got my early education from British books and now you are filling in the gaps, sort of! Regards, Adrienne.

Very good. Nice to see something other than a colorful sunset on the horizon:)

Hi Alf,

You could almost say "for peat's sake" :). Love the shot. It has such a great mood. Well done. Jim

Your explanatory lines give another dimension to your work. Interesting and technically immaculate - at least imho. Compliments!

I personally like the blue it gives a surreal look to the image making me think of another planet. The story is great as is the title; I would love to put my feet on the soft peat…with socks on of course…the kind with the little grippies to keep me from slipping ;) Thank you for sharing…take care

Warm regards, Pamela

Not an area I am familiar with but a striking seascape. The lines create an excellent perspective leading the eye out to sea and the dark blue tones confer a back in time feeling to go with the fossilising of the peat.

Neat story and quite interesting. I like the photo a lot. The tones and colors are really beautiful, and your composition is spot on. I like the way the clouds seem to mirror the alignment of the peat formations. Nice textures in the foreground. Well done - michel

I agree it does have a surreal quality, which I think the movement in the sky has emphasised, thank you so much for looking in and for your kind comments..

PASCAL

Thank you so much for your observations and kind comments, I think the prevailing light conditions have mostly dictated the sky colour, I have altered the tone fractionally but the saturation remains as taken.

Thank you for looking in mate, this place is a bit of a trek, but it has wonderful photographic potential, unfortunately the weather wasn't great when I was there, but it's a nice journey down there through Welshpool, Newtown, Rayeder, and then on towards Aberystwyth, but turning off for Borth just befor you get to Aberyswyth.
