This is a georgeous picture that really gains from being enlarged. I can tell your equpment is top notch...super super sharp lens... professional stuff.

I wondered if it was an Ansel Adams print - but no it was Carsten's. Lovely - great tonality and clarity.

A long time....I'm always wondering how the sky are "posing" for you, they can be a composition by themselves, I like the triangle/ form they are presenting touching the vanishing point ,like connecting to earth.Has to be seen large to experience the middle part with the white houses, a bit behind the round/triangle feel of the FG,entering the viewer into the scene. Beautifully lighted and composed in B/W. I hope all is well, Best regards.

No slouch when viewed small but much better viewed 'Larger' where the fine details such as the buildings on the right can be better appreciated. The foreground tones and sky tones are indeed reminiscent of an AA print. He set the bar for 'Classic' and it appears he has a few followers. This would probably be stunning in colour as well but I applaud your choice of B&W. Best, LM.

Len is correct. The larger version is impressive, indeed, especially on the far buildings. Almost looks like a 4x5 scan. About this M9, I can see how the sharpness and grain performance is really something, but somehow, I still prefer the smoother tones of the 5D or the 1D Mk 2 to the somewhat contrasty results of the M9. But, that may just be a personal preference thing. As far as this image goes, I agree with pnina, the sky does pose for you.

Thank you all for your comments ! Emmanuel, I see your point with microcontrast, the modern aspheric M-mount lenses (not the M9 sensor, of course), provide the hell of a microcontrast, far better than Canon glass. However, if you prefer the softer classic look, there are many alternative lenses with pre-aspheric formulas in the M-world (even less expensive than the actual lenses), all old M lenses fit onto the M9
