The four day old ‘miracle’ baby elephant at Taronga Zoo (Sydney) had his first day out in front of the public on the 14th Mar 2010. “Mr Shuffles”, as he has been nick-named by the keepers, was thought to have died in the womb three days before he shocked the vets and keepers by being born alive and healthy in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Mr Shuffles was renamed “Pathi Harn” today in a Buddhist naming ceremony.

Pathi Harn is Thai for miracle.

Some of the other images I took of Pathi Harn on the same day can be found in my

”Work in Progress” gallery.

Please be gentle though as I haven’t had a chance to process them yet (just batch resized and sharpened JPEGs)).

Thanks Dale. I thought the slightly soft treatment would suit this image that highlights just how fluffy he is.

Cheers, Mike
