While the sunrise was festive, the exposure conditions were hampered by a steady breeze, so capturing depth of field was a challenge. I wanted to keep the flowers sharp, so I needed a shorter shutter speed. The result was opening the aperture to a point where I thought I could also keep the mountains in focus. They weren't! At least not tack sharp. Still, the image has some merit and the lack of depth actually is tolerable enough, in fact it seems to create a 3D effect. Most importantly, I was focusing on spring!!!

I think you nailed it Mark. The image is sharp enough and the sunset adds so much warmth. The complimentary blues and oranges add a pleasing aspect to the overall image. All in all just another Greisweite masterpiece. Kudos, rek.

With the flowers in beautiful focus, this image has all it requires to create an impact, I think. The morning haze in the distance, blurring detail in the hills, doesn't take away in the least from the real protagonists in the scene.
