The out-of-focus background, open beak, and eye- level angle are what I

like about this image. What about you, what do you like? Please le me

I'm with you, I like the eye contact, open beak, awesome bg and good exposure. Doesn't look very hot to me on the head. Don't care much for the curled wing position. All things considered, its an excellent image IMHO.

I think the open beak is a big plus since it shows the agressiveness/intensity of the Osprey at the moment. The gaze of the eye add more to that as well.

 

The white can be tone down in PS by doing 'Image', 'Ajustment', 'Shadow/Highlight' with

value of your choice (I tried 5/35 and it shows more details to me).

I really admire your work. This is another fabulous shot. Sharp, clear, great timing - love the open beak and you got the outstanding eye!
