bettiecl 0 Posted March 16, 2010 a tell tale story, indeed, David. I love the way you turn your back on all the stereotypical 'rules' photographers tend to be stuck to. Cheers to you. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted March 16, 2010 I have a funny feeling you may be the only person that thinks so Bettie. I am wondering which 'rules I did not follow.' Thanks! Link to comment
danielsin 0 Posted March 16, 2010 Instantly I'm drawn to the empty space beside the lady on the mattress. It does match the caption you have put it there. Interesting concept indeed. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted March 17, 2010 The subject's look out of the frame, likely at someone, to me creates a sense of wanting that person. The unmade bed is hardly empty and likely to be less so. OK, a psychiatrist would have a field day with that interpretation but I do like the photograph. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted March 17, 2010 Daniel, I am glad you mention the space. The reason I mention you mentioning it may become clear in the near future. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Mark, All that matters is you like the photograph. What your psychiatrist would say may be more interesting than the image. I can't remember if there was anyone else present or not and if there is, I am not sure if she is looking at this other person. It was taken some years ago. Drew, ??? Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted March 17, 2010 I truly like this image, and not just because it is in BW. The sense of depth created by the angle of the mattress Nd the angle of the intersection of the walls is very well done.. I also love the little bit of curtain in the upper right corner. The crop of the models arms is more of something that I would do than your usual practice. In short, I don't think there is anything I don't like about it. -Cheers Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted March 18, 2010 Kind words! I didn't think this image would get much attention. I realised what attention it would get would be from people who understand photography. Thanks a lot. Link to comment
DrewBayless 3 Posted March 31, 2010 I have been out of commission for a while as I had a stroke in February 2007. At the moment I have no voice so cannot speak and as I only have use of one arm, writing is slow and difficult for me. But I love reading your messages, so please keep them coming! My code : !!!! = this means I think your work is very good. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted March 31, 2010 For someone who is a little (a lot) handicapped at the moment, you are giving a lot of comments. They are appreciated. I am not sure which comments of mine you are referring to but I will try to keep them coming. Thanks! Link to comment
