With the One

This is my first submission and would welcome any constructive criticisms and

critiques. Thank you very much for your time.

Classical style of portrait, classical pose, competent execution but nothing to make it stand out from many similar studies. I like this style of portraiture so I'll comment further - you have two bright highlights in the ear and these tend to draw the aye away from the subject. The focus is a little soft - this sort of picture for me needs pin sharp hair and skin definition - greater DOF? - I would like to see the eyelashes more strongly lit. I assume one light at 45° upper left in line with subject - perhaps very slightly forward of subject may give the extra skin definition. In post process I would try a tonal contrast filter on this to see if it gives more punch. Hope this helps - Comment but no rating.

Thanks Andrew for taking the time to comment. I am fairly new at photography so I have a lot to learn and your comments point out some great issues for me to focus on :)

I like the crop, whch is classic, but it would need more contrast and a little bit of sharpening to get the texture of the skin. Heinz

I think you did a great job with this.

This is a superbly well done portrait.  Light, position on the frame and expression are splendid.
