Thank you,Tommy. Your opinion is much appreciated. I think contrast plays a big part in this photo. The afternoon sun (which we are advised to avoid) has actually helped highlight any detail, including (through reflection) that of the basket in the dark, together with its contents.

I agree with you Amalda.It's the contrast that works here. There is an old market at Bristol with a passage full of food-stalls; continental, Moroccan, West Indian...and so on. There are also a couple of book shops with all the odd books you can imagine. I just love going there on weekends to savour the atmosphere.

Thank you Donna and Somnath-da for your comments. Looking at it now, I wish I could capture the texture of the cloth in detail but that was not possible due to the glare.
