Cugman Fire 03-11 #001

Thirty-nine homes were lost in this fire that started around 11pm lastnight. There were also a number of small businesses destroyed. I havenot yet heard of any loss-of-life or serious injuries.

This is, unfortunately, a common occurrence in dense, lightlyconstructed areas such as this one.

This was about one kilometer from my home.

How unfortunate Dave.....but documenting these unfortunate happenings is still necessary.....our local paper used to use a lot of my Dad's photos years ago. I don't think I've ever seen a sky this red from a fire. (sure glad you couldn't have seen my grandson there!).
