rbanfield 0 Posted March 9, 2010 Gotta agree with Tim. Heading for my Favorite folio. Classic b/w capture and timeless. Could have been shot yesterday or 25 years ago...Lefty Link to comment
leo burkey 0 Posted March 9, 2010 Thank you Tim & Ray This has been a favorite image of mine for a long time. I have printed it both in the darkroom and lightroom but I believe this is my best rendition. Link to comment
leo burkey 0 Posted March 9, 2010 Early one morning while traveling in Michigan I happened upon this farm in Escanaba Michigan. The sun was about 15 minutes from rising and I scampered to set up 4x5 field camera. I had to setup the tripod, mount the camera, mount the lens, take light meter readings, insert the 4x5 film pack, pull the slide and take the exposure, all before the sun came up. It was a mad rush which I just barely made but not soon enough to take a second exposure. I knew I had gotten something special but I wouldn’t know for sure until the film was developed. So many ways existed to lose this negative: did I accidentally let light in when I removed and replaced the slide, will a scratch during development ruin it, did I expose incorrectly? Digital is so much easier. I can see the image immediately and make any necessary corrections. Although I have printed this image many times, both in the darkroom and the lightroom, I believe this be the best rendition to date. By the bye, I took this image 25 years ago. Link to comment
momagnum 5 Posted March 9, 2010 Great work. The grey scale is sublime. The motive reminds me of Polish country side. Tommy Link to comment
