Nice shot. I wonder if at first, they try to remove the bands. I saw one two weeks ago at BC that wasn't banded...I wonder how that happened!

Peregrines aren't endangered like they were in previous years and they don't band nearly as many chicks as they used to. The one you saw with the band at Bolsa Chica is proably one of 2 that were banded from newport bay last year and the only reason they were, was because they were injured. Most of the other banded ones like this one are older birds.

This is my favorite Bird of Prey, excellent job on stopping the action and capturing the detail in the feathers. I love the detail of the head and eye you can tell she's sighting in on either a place to land or she's about to take something down. Love it!!!

Very nice image Monte, not that the other isn't, but the slight wing tip blur on this one really gives a nice motion to the flight and the BG is awesome.I would remove the little poo specs and maybe brighten the eye up a little as that would really stand out. A seeable eye with those talons and beak would make this shot exceptional. Nice job.
