After commenting on your symmetrical shot, I looked at your folder and cannot resist commenting on this one as well! This is an even better shot than the other one. The exposure is perfect, and you have very good depth of field. Even more of the colorful lantana is visible, and the composition is very nice, with the moth now in a "rule of thirds" position and balanced by the flowers. Well done!

I really like the color too, and I'm very impressed with how sharp this came out. What I'm not fond of is the angle. I sort of want6 to see more of the moth, esp. the head. There's a lot of open space up in the right hand side that I feel is a little wasted. But that said, very impressive shot.

Recognized those Dimage colors immediately -- I own a Dimage 7. Fabulous capture. One minor complaint: Would have liked a little more space on the left.

Regina: How long did this beautiful bug stay around? This image is less in your face than the first but no less wonderful. It's an amazing looking insect captured well. I like the crop.

Very nice. The composition here is much more dynamic than the other shot. The colours are wonderful. I think a little bit of sharpnening would make this even nicer. And, the second bunch of flower doesn't fit into the rest of the image well as is: either include all of it, or crop off more.

I think Jim hit the nail right on the head regarding digital camera. It is tough to have critical DOF control as in convetional film photography, unless you have full frame digital sensor. I like this image a lot better than the other one. The composition is a lot more pleasing, while the other one is kind of like 'right in your face'. Color is nice and the exposure is better. I did some PS alteration of the background sharpness and brightness as an alternative.

I love the butterfly, it looks so furry as to be almost feathery. One thing that slightly disturbs me is the contrast. Allthough there is good contrast between the butterfly and flower, it sends mixed feelings that dont completely unify the scene, IMO.

Other than that, good job. y. v-r

I find the bright leaf on the left distracting. But the colors of the moth and flowers are just gorgeous together!
