I ejnoyed your winter landscape photo.nice lighting. I would liked to have seen a bit more landscape at the top of the photo to give more perspective and maybe clone out the few twigs in the front right and center since they do not add to the photo. otherwise very nice photo and very scenic spot. take care.

Christal... It took a minute to realize the falls are frozen and that it's not blurred water. Nice and cold and you've handled the bright sun well. Yeah, the twigs need to go... Mike

Now don't laugh.....the only reason I didn't remove the twigs was because I didn't know how. The only editing I've done so far is small stuff using the spot healing brush in PS Elements 4. So I just tried using the spot healing brush to remove these.....I hope you'll let me know if you think I was successful at it. It may look a little splotchy. I'm sure there was a faster/better way of doing it. Thanks for your input and your appreciation of this. This is only about 1 and 1/4 hours from me, but I had never seen this park before. It's definitely worth a return visit, I'd say. I'll try to replace the image with my corrected version......if I can figure out how to do it. And Paul, I actually do have one with a little more headroom at top, so I'll have to dig that out and play with it. Thanks!

Christal... Looks good to me. You can get away with more and it makes learning easier at this resolution. In a full size print you may have to be more precise. Next time try the clone tool. 100% opacity works for this type fix, but you have to watch for hard edges and pattern repeats... Mike

That is one outstanding picture you got there. I love the layering created by the falls. This image shows there was some thought behind, your composition is great and you've chosen the right shutter speed to give this image a feel of dynamics.

Very nice indeed

Hi Crystal,

Beautiful shot. Nice job with the composure and the dynamic range. Snow can be a challenge. Even the parts here that are exposed to the sun didn't get a way from you. Seeing some green starting to peek up on the Palouse. All my best-Jim

I think you have realised the potential of the scene really well, every element is well exposed, rock, timber, water, snow, and with good clarity, natural colour and balanced composition.

Well done Christal!

Due to the precise shutter speed Christal you perfectly captured the movement of the flowing water. ……….Also beautiful light and natural colours. …..The tight crop, the view point and the composition focus nicely on your subject. ………………..

As a violonist you would have also appreciated the melody from the flowing water…………….

PS: Many thanks for your kind comment and my wishes for a Happy Easter.

I was sorry it could not be enlarged, there are so many beautiful details. I like a lot the "steps" the water are falling/frosen from. The light and the brown/blue  color palette are mixing  very well together, and even the line of sky looks a part of the whole. Very well executed, the feeling of winter is strongly felt.
