veezais_gr 0 Posted February 26, 2010 After 3 days of storm that morning came with a complete silence, no whistling of the wind through palm branches, no rattling of the blinds in our bungalow. When I got down to the beach, there was another surprise – the ocean was as calm as a lake with just an occasional small wave lapping against the rocks. Link to comment
enricoargiolas 0 Posted February 26, 2010 I like how you've catched a so good peaceful atmosphere. The ocean look like oil, really pleasant! The exposure and the tones are good, however a even longer exposure can give a even better look to the water and maybe, with a stronger ND Grad filter, more details on the rocks. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted February 26, 2010 Enough detail for me on the rocks. The reflections of the sun peeking through the clouds are well balanced by the darker rocks. The atmosphere is indeed very peaceful. This must have been quite a long exposure. Did you shoot this before sunrise/after sunset, or did you combine your ND grad with a strong ND filter to smooth out the waves ? A very nice shot. Link to comment
veezais_gr 0 Posted February 26, 2010 Thanks for the comments, Enrico and Peter! Peter, this photo was shot shortly (circa 10 minutes) after the sunrise, however there was already so much light that I had to use a 6 stop ND filter + Grad ND to smooth out the water. Link to comment
