Tim... A great shot depicting the cold stillness of Winter. Uh, I don't guess I should tell you that it's 72dF here today and I actually got to wash my car without freezing... Mike

 

 

If I had been in this photo, I think I would have felt rather small under this high, mighty sky. I like the wintermood and the greatness.

Mike - almost got to 40 today, that sun felt pretty warm today. I was shedding layers of clothing walking along the beach here.

 

Sidsel - The sky looked fantastic over the lake, deep rich blues, the sun was warm...the lake frozen over with ice and snow as far as my eye could see........I wished I had a lens big enough to capture it all.

Simple yet powerful and beautiful shot. It makes me wonder to what extent the sun is able to warm this place...

Thank you both for your kind remarks, the sun really enhanced my mood that morning having been cloudy for quite sometime before then. I thought a portrait of it seemed fitting.

Are you sure this is planet Earth? lol... Quite a dramatic and stark image...makes me think of a nuclear winter! Very well done! Thank you for sharing. :)
