Lou Ann: Welcome back, I haven't seen you here in a while. Always like photos of butterfles. I think you did a good of capture as the wings are fully open, not easy to do sometimes. Tom

Thanks, gentlemen! I haven't been shooting much lately. I can only handle so many "hobbies", and I started to try to teach myself to speak Spanish about a year and a half ago..... pero no puedo hablar mucho........

Anyway - I was bummed that I only had my P&S with me that day - wasn't expecting to end up at the butterfly exhibit at the Smithsonian that afternoon. The whites in his wings are blown out, but this was the only one of about 8 shots I took that was somewhat in focus. I've been to that exhibit before, and the butterflies were difficult to shoot because they never stayed still. Last week, though, sans SLR, they were sitting still ALL OVER the place. Gah! Figures!!

I'm hoping to take a trip to Texas in a few weeks to see the wild flowers. Hopefully I'll have some stuff to post in April................

Cheers!!

And nicely composed shot, too, Lou Ann! :) I like how the red of the flower matches the red at the bottom of the butterfly.

Thanks, y'all!

Kim - another Texas friend also gave me the heads up that I can expect a lot of great wildflowers this spring in Texas. Still working on the plans - but the trip looks like it will happen. Can't wait to see you guys!!

Mari - I am so glad that you've stopped by my pics a couple of times lately. I haven't been shooting much these days ... because I've been spending almost all of my free time working on teaching myself to speak Spanish!! :)

Ciao!!
