bmm 0 Posted February 17, 2010 That is one stunning sunset tonally and you have captured it very well. The shapes of the clouds make for an interesting composition too. Well done. Link to comment

dom1 1 Posted February 17, 2010 Hi Sam, Unreal describes this sunset, but it is real! If you click to enlarge you will see the mountain ridge with windmills. Immediately above is the ocean with the suns reflection. Below the mountain, in the shadow, the clouds do not catch the red light. They show a faint lavender we sometimes see here. The horizontal pearly clouds at right, between the lower lavender and the upper reds, make this a very unusual mix. This shot is taken from my home, so I have a sunset every evening. It takes something extraordinary to take another sunset shot. This event was caused by Southern (Kona) winds clashing with the normal Northeast trade winds. I have more unusual Hawaii clouds I'll post later. Aloha! Link to comment
inuksuk 0 Posted February 19, 2010 Wow! I've never seen anyone capture such a unique cloud formation! The colours are like magic and remind me of the dream world. What a joy this must have been to photograph! Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted March 5, 2010 The sky's on fire! It's a beautiful image Dominick, it has an inherent power that many sunset images lack. Congratulations on a superb picture! Link to comment
