I like your choice of subject Richard. The things that catch my eye are the darker areas in the snow/ice and the few reeds that are sticking up out of the snow in the LR. The grasses are awesome, but I think centering the dock and bench is where improvement could be realized in the comp. I think placing it off center would work better, but alas, which third? The other thing is trying to determine what the bench actually is. A school desk perhaps? I often find myself wanting a slightly larger version of your work, but I might surmise that you prefer to keep your previews small because of piracy. OK, so all that being said, I still like what you have here. Your work is very inspiring!

Thank you for your kind comments and suggestions. It's funny I was looking at the print that I had made and wondered the same thing you mentioned about the fact the deck was centered and the rule of thirds. But how to move the bench without effecting the grasses, which are prominent in the composition, along with effecting the negative space to the left of the snow and ice is a factor also. It has been so drab around here lately and the sunlight so limited I had to shoot this between breaks in a rather cloudy sky. PHotographers dilemma. I appreciate your advice especially because of your skill and talent. Best wishes, rek.
