alfbailey 1 Posted February 12, 2010 This church isn't that old, but I liked the stonework and the shapes of the bell towers. It also attracted me because it didn't have telephones wires, gaudy notices, cars or any of the usual clutter that spoils the view on a lot of churches these days. Your thoughts and comments are always very welcome Link to comment

pfranklin 0 Posted February 12, 2010 Excellent pp treatment on this beautiful church. The details and colors really pop out of the frame. I agree with you, this is a clean shot...nothing to distract eyes from the architecture and setting. I guess they didnt know where you could find some socks.... ;) All the best my friend, Pamela Link to comment

fotinos 0 Posted February 13, 2010 Yes, excellent architecture shot! Caused an appealing impression to me and looked at it for several minutes... Question: Is it HDR? Link to comment
kdrews 0 Posted February 13, 2010 A most striking image.......and delightful architecture. I was wondering if it is an HDR image too. Very nice effect. If you like this type of photography you may want to check out PTLens. It's an inexpensive software that will help you correct your verticals, perspective, vignetting, etc. You can also do those things in Photoshop if you have it. Nicely done, Alf. Link to comment

alfbailey 1 Posted February 15, 2010 DAVID Thank you for stopping by, and for your very kind comments, much appreciated. GALLEGO Thank you! Much Appreciated F.N. Thank you for stopping by! PAMELA Good to hear from you, I'm really pleased you like it! : - ) Now about these socks .....A woman once told me "Socks should be spontaneous" ....well I think she said socks......anyway I will suprise you with them.....I'm running out of excuses fast! ...: - ) Take Care Pamela JEF Thank you so much! FALAK Thank you for visiting and for your kind comments. GUNNAR Thank you I'm really pleased you like it! FOTINOS Thank you, yes it is a HDR image, but blended with a traditional image in photoshop, I also used the gradient tool to accentuate the grey sky. DREW Thank you for your kind comments and for the information about PTLens, I really appreciate it! I did use a certain amount of perspective correction in photoshop, although I must confess that I am not truly proficient at this technique as yet, and don't normally use it, however because I didn't have my tripod with me, I had to use a nearby bench as a stable surface for the camera in order to bracket the shots, and this being at a low level caused me to tilt the camera upwards resulting in a bit more distortion than I would normally expect. Thanks again Drew! ALBERTO Thank you so much, you are very kind! BOB Thannk you ! TIBI HDR is a bit trickier than I first thought, but I am slowly learning the various processes. Thank you for your very kind comments! PATSY Always good to hear from you, I hope you are keeping well!, Thank you for your very kind comments! BIRTE Thank you for your observations and very encouraging comments. GUNGAJIM Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your kind comments. TONY Thanks for looking in Tony, the original sky wasn't very appealing, you know how it is when there is very little definition and just that white haze, well thats how it was, so I experimented a bit with the gradient tool in photoshop and it kinda worked out ok. HOLA JOAQUIN Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting, much appreciated! EDUARD Thank you for your kind comments! VLADIMIR Thank you! much appreciated! JOHN Thanks for looking in John, your kind comments are appreciated! Sincere Thanks and Warm Regards To All Alf Link to comment
harlequin 0 Posted February 15, 2010 There is almost a postcard quality to the church in this shot. The sky or background seems very dark and gloomy. For me it distracts, but that may be your intention. Interesting color tones in the brick and stone. Hope this finds you well and shooting like crazy. - Charles Link to comment
