3m 0 Posted February 11, 2010 David, This is really a very nice portrait of your dog! Beautiful colors and details & I can see why you gave this photo it's title. (PS: This dog actually reminds me a lot of a dog my parents used to have : a German Pointer, named Sita :-) Best Regards, Marjolein Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted February 11, 2010 Hi Marjolein - and thanks very much. Rose is a German Shorthaired Pointer, a breed derived in part from the old German Pointer. She is a fine girl, an excellent hunter and very calm in the house. I love the continental breeds, both French and German. Thanks for stopping by, and for your kind remarks. donna pallotta 107 Posted February 11, 2010 makes me wonder, Dave, if i'm a reincarnated German Shorthaired Pointer; i'm a dog worshipper, much appreciative of your genius doggie family photos ; ) dp Link to comment

david_l._forney 0 Posted February 24, 2010 This is a classic portrait and so well done and complimentary of Rose. Beautiful job on the eyes and a composition, but especially the eyes with the skyline catch lights. I love the golden light from the front. Looks like an evening shot. My son likes it. He said that Rose has a collar with a penny on it. (My eyes kept looking at the twin blade of grass under her chin, so I thought I would see what it looked like without it.) Beautiful work as always. David-Wisse 5 Posted February 24, 2010 Thanks David! I neglected to take care of that blade of grass, thanks for noticing. It looks like you relieved Rose of the mosquitos buzzing around here head as well - I had left them believing it added authenticity to the shot - but realize no one else would probably know what they were. Better gone. Sure do apprecaite your taking the time and interest to help - I'll replace the original. Best, David Link to comment
david_l._forney 0 Posted February 24, 2010 David, I knew that you left those mosquitos there for authenticity, although I didn't know that's what they were. I figured that if I had mentioned them (whatever they were), you would have said that you left them there for authenticity, and that I would have responded that I didn't know what they were, and you could have responded that anyone who knows about photographing dogs in these environs at that time of year would know what they were and that in any event you and Rose knew what they were and you liked them, but that you would be too polite to say that anyway . . . so I just removed them without mentioning it. :) Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted February 25, 2010 David, you are not only a fine photographer - you are funny on a par with Mark Twain and Will Rogers! Had me laughing no end . . . Oh - I asked Rose about it - and she was emphatically in support of your mosquito removal. "Authenticity be damned", she said. Later! David Link to comment
