I return to photograph Dixville Notch over & over. This has become my mountain and

a place that I love. I see the textures, shadows, shapes and how the seasonal light

defines these things. I am passionate about good light and this image taken in the

low, northern, solstice light creates a mood that pulls both landscape & light together in

a way that keeps me seeking that vision that continues to inspire me.

Well composed. Love the cool blues. Maybe would like to see more of the less- blue tree on the left as a stronger contrast to the rest of the image.

A beautiful scene Judith. I can see why you'd want to photograph in this area. The hoar frost, and fresh snow really add a nice touch to this shot. I would like to see a slightly warmer white balance with neutral white snow color. There are ways to get a nice blue sky, and still get accurate white balance on the snow.

All the best,

Neil
