Guest Guest Posted February 9, 2010 Madeleine, This reminds me of a my Aunt Nymphadora's familiar. I used to visit them when I was very little. She was a very intelligent cat and loyal companion to my aunt. You have focused very well on her eyes. This cat's eyes and blue whiskers tell me that she is a bit over processed. The contrast is a tad high. You don't want to lose too much of the detail in her fur. I think she would like it better if she was looking into the picture rather than out of it. That would also compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. A quick and easy way to do this (and it works on people, too) is to place the tip of her nose in the vertical center of the photograph. In other words you want to crop some off the left or add a little on the right. The hight contrast does give an interesting effect to this photograph, though. I sort of like it this way. Be careful of your narrow depth of field. Her chest and the back of her head is out of focus. I think it would look better if all of her was in focus. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
