timzeipekis 5 Posted February 9, 2010 Really cool shot! Of course I need to ask how you did it. Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted February 9, 2010 Thanks much Tim - It's just a b&w conversion with some burning/dodging and a vignette. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted February 10, 2010 I understand that, how did you get your dog to stay calmly on a piece of, what appears to be, float-away ice? or am I missing something obvious? Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted February 10, 2010 Tim - The iceberg is anchored to the bottom - the water is only about 6" deep around it. Hans leaped on top without any prompting from me, and paused just long enough for a shot. I wasn't quick enough to catch him mid-jump, which might have been really cool! Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted February 10, 2010 Thanks very much Tony - If only Nat. Geo. would hire me :)! Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted February 11, 2010 The motion of the water is great. The dog seems like he's captaining his own little world. I like the stretch of cold landscape beneath that frozen horizon. An interesting shot. Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted February 11, 2010 Thanks Jeff. He's a brave pooch, and would be out over that icy horizon exploring if I would let him! Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted February 12, 2010 David, this is great. This looks like a scene from the Arctic and that should be a Polar Bear looking for fat seals. I can tell by the ears that he is thinking about exploring. The movement of the water make it looks like he is floating away. Best wishes, Linda Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted February 12, 2010 Hi Linda - Thanks vey much for visiting and commenting. We're having an easy winter, but still plenty of ice and snow for Hans play in. Best, David Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 3 Posted March 6, 2010 Wow David, this is beautifully done! Hans looks as if he is floating on a small broken piece of an iceburg to a new land; his stance shows he is in command of his future and eager to get there! Great photo! I love this! Your dogs are GREAT, and so are your photos of them! Thank you for sharing this beautiful photo! :) Link to comment
