paolo de faveri 1 Posted February 3, 2010 A classic view of Burano, an island of the Venetian lagoon at about 1h of Vaporetto from downtown Venice. Burano is just a fantastic playground for photographers, with its canals and the crazy colours of the houses. I took this picture about 30 minutes before sunset. I used a strong neutral density filter to get an exposure time of 60", in order to get rid of the people passing by the "fondamenta" (sidewalks). Your C&C are as always higly appreciated, thanks for your time. Details: Eos 50D, Tokina ATX-Pro 12-24 f4, B+W 110 ND (1000x), tripod. 60" f11 Link to comment

eugenio_pastor_benjumeda 0 Posted February 4, 2010 You have captured a great image with the long exposure, Paolo. I payed attention to the boats and they seem to be nearly as quite as the walls; a really calm water. I was there a long time ago and I know that beautiful place. The colours are great and the quiet feeling you have reached is lovely. Best regards. Link to comment

jlevin 0 Posted February 4, 2010 As far as I'm concerned, the composition is perfect, and the colors, of course, are superb. However, given the great depth of this shot, I don't think f/11 gives you enough depth of field. For example, the first boat seems to have some blur in it. I would have preferred say f/16 to get a tack-sharp image from front to back. Clever use of your neutral density filter. A very lovely image. Link to comment
